This is only the beginning!
Welcome to my blog "Driven by Love and Coffee"! I am a wife, mom/special needs mom, and youth leader. I face marital and parenting challenges, extreme exhaustion; I battle with anxiety and depression and I love dessert (with coffee, of course)! These situations and titles sound normal and typical right? Well, once you get to know me, once you know my family and hear about our experiences; being wife, mom and youth leader take on a whole new meaning. Why a blog? First of all, I love to write, it is a sort of therapy for me. I love sharing what I learn, insights, opinions, maybe even a rant or two. My journey began with a prayer (which was a popular children's sunday school song) when I was 14 years old; "make me a servant, humble and meek, Lord let me lift up, those who are weak and may the prayer of my heart always be, make me a servant today". When I heard that song, I took it and prayed it with my whole heart, it became a deep desire in me. Now, becareful what you pray for. God listens to these kinds of prayers and provides many opportunities to serve.
This blog is one of those ways I want to serve. My hope is to serve you by speaking to your heart as a wife, mom, special needs mom, youth leader, teen and/or friend. There will be written posts, videos, interviews and much more to look forward to. My purpose is that this blog will be an encouragement to you, no matter what your struggles are.
I plan on being honest and transparent about my life and what I have experienced and learned along the way. Since I am living out this blog, you will join me during real life situations, whether it's writing or recording next to my son's hospital bed, or sharing what God is doing in the lives of so many teenagers as they walk through struggles with parents, school, peers, temptation and addictions.
Other stuff about me:
I love coffee! Strong and black, no fru fru frappuccinos for me! Some of my most cherished friends love that stuff and that is okay. I have also learned to love and accept tea drinkers, so WELCOME! I shall not judge you by what you drink. Did I mention that I am a bit sarcastic and humorous? Yes, I end up apologizing alot!
Our lovely family includes a yellow Lab named Sheldon. We welcomed him into our home 2 years ago from a rescue. He is between 6-8 years old and has earned his title as my 4th child. We love him lots.
I love butterflies, symbolizing transformation, new beginnings! Who doesn't need new beginnings! I love second chances, even better when its the third or fourth chance. This is why I love mornings! "His mercies are new every morning!" Another opportunity to be more joyful, learn from my mistakes, mature and make an impact in someone's life, I love it!
I am not an expert on political issues, so any political comments I may have will be very rare, and probably just a mini rant. I don't claim to know what I'm talking about when it comes to politics; therefore, will rarely comment on it. Except that I vote for Kermit the Frog!
I welcome your comments. Your feedback is important to me and this blog. Tell me what you think, what needs improvement? Any issue you would like me to talk about? The only thing I ask that my blog remain a place of mutual respect and consideration of others. There is a way to disagree without being insulting or disrespectful.
Once again, welcome to my blog "Driven by Love and Coffee". Grab a cup of your favorite java or tea and let's connect!
